Dr._Deanna_Schwab.jpgDr. Deanna Schwab, of Sonoma, was recently awarded the prestigious Don Low- CVMA Fellowship in Small Animal Ultrasonography at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.    The fellowship program is designed to give practicing veterinary professionals opportunities that are not otherwise available in a clinical setting.
For the next year, Dr. Schwab, who works at the Arroyo Veterinary Hospital, will be spending two days a month at the university’s veterinary teaching hospital participating in clinical cases requiring abdominal ultrasound. She will be working with faculty and students involved in the use of diagnostic ultrasound.
“The Low-CVMA Fellowship will allow me to hone my ultrasound skills as well as reconnect with the vet school at UC Davis, my alma mater. I’ll be learning from the experts in a world-class facility as well as interacting with the students, providing them with insights into what it’s like practicing in the real world. I’m very honored to have been chosen for this fellowship.” Arroyo acquired a Biosound Mega ES ultrasound machine in the Fall of 2005 and Dr. Schwab, along with Dr. Josephine Mcgrane, have attended training seminars in Boston and San Diego in order to be proficient with the new machine. Combined they have logged over 100 education and training hours. Arroyo Veterinary Hospital is located at 18501 Sonoma Hwy, in the Springs.

Arroyo Veterinary Hospital is proud to be accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association, a member of the Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Better Business Bureau and a certified Green Business

"Little Kitty"
This little kitty was a feral cat brought in by one of our Good Samaritan clients. She  was so sweet we decided to find her a home but apparently that won't be necessary as she seems to have charmed her way into Dr. Schwab's heart and home.
