Community Outreach
Get involved in our community service activities:
Relay for Life
The Arroyo Cancer Avengers are out to raised over $7,000 in 2009 to help find a cure for breast cancer. You can support our team and help us reach our goal by make your donation online or participating in our Raffle. Details will be announced in the Spring of 2010.
  • Good Samaritan Fund
This Arroyo program aids animals in critical need of medical attention who have no caretakers or who have caretakers with limited funds for veterinary services such as surgery, hospitalization, and medication. Proceeds from many of our classes and events go to support the Good Sam fund. You'll also find donation cups in our reception area.

  • Paws for Youth
Paws for Youth is offered to classrooms and students interested in a career in the animal healthcare field or just to increase awareness of the veterinary profession. The program includes classroom presentations, personal interviews, career day talks and job shadowing. The staff will bring live cats and dogs to further enhance the student's experience as well as x-rays and models. Job shadowing includes a two hour visit to the hospital to observe a working day behind the scenes in the treatment and surgery areas.

Pet of the Week

Catcher_Thumbalina_Kobal.jpg

"Catcher & Thumbalina"
Catcher and Thumbalina are from a feral litter of 4 from Pets Lifeline. They are Polydactyl cats (born with a congenital physical abnormality resulting in varying numbers of toes on their feet). According to their owners, "they have long limbs and extraordinary gymnastic abilities. They were very clumsy as kittens and they learned to compensate for their splay footed gates. They seem to be very adaptable behaviorally compared to other kittens we've had - perhaps because of this."
